Gasthaus Zur Walba in Pentling

Here I have to give a lot of praise - the corona rules have not been implemented in any other restaurant as exemplary as here. Starting with the friendly, resolute receptionist (one-way street and mask requirement !!) to one-time menu, cutlery mugs and the careful service - great! And as far as I have seen, inside is already prepared for bad weather Wetter Outside you sit wonderfully in the familiar beer garden near the Danube (i.e. the Danube Cycle Path) and you can just let yourself go. I have seldom seen such a beautiful menu and snack menu (which, by the way, changes regularly). And really everything was delicious! That's how I love my Bavarian homeland 😊 Even for an indecisive mind like me there was the optimal solution - an unbeatable quartet with specialties from the Bavarian cuisine: a schnitzel with a wonderful potato salad, really tasty Kässpatzen (and I come from the Allgäu !!!) with Obatzda and sausage salad with the right amount good bread. And the best thing about it, it comes in exactly the right large or small portions and then a fresh dark beer on tap - that's pure quality of life!

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. The location itself is of course great. The location is beautiful, the ambience also fits, both inside and outside. The service was fast, friendly and thoroughly competent, but now comes the big "but": the prices are an absolute cheek, at least for what you get for it. Sure, it's a popular, well-known beer garden, so the prices are a little higher. But if I pay more than 8 euros for a portion of Obatzda and then get half a slice of bread (no joke !!!), then that's an absolute cheek. When I asked the staff whether that was intentional (trying very hard to be friendly), I got the answer that I had to be happy that it was a thick slice. Sorry, but I will never come here again, there is too much competition in the surrounding area who clearly place more value on the satisfaction of their guests.

Great place, very professional staff

The inn is located directly on the cycle route along the Danube, making it the ideal resting place to linger. After renting a bike from Zweirad Ehrl, Am Protzenweiher, we arrived at the inn after about three quarters of an hour. We ate very well in the cozy beer garden - there was no flax in my boiled beef and the meat melted on the tongue! 👍 My friend's zander was just as delicious as the freshly tapped dark beer. The friendly wait staff and the clean, beautiful restaurant deserves great praise!

Nice service, good food, cozy beer garden with a view of the water, family-friendly (large playground available) and well suited for wheelchair users (barrier-free). Parking spaces are available directly in front of the door.

Unfriendly Oberl, pazy reference to entry in the Corona list. That's not how you treat guests. Left the place and indulged my beer somewhere else. It was much better there.

It is very nicely located on the Danube. Friendly service. Comfortable space. The menu is extensive, rather Bavarian and really tasty. Game meat patties, delicious:) In any case, plan a stop on your next excursion!

Have a wedding held there was absolutely chaotic no table arrangement as it should be for a wedding the bride sat around the corner long waiting time for food wrong menu no menu as ordered coffee always only on demand The restaurant is good for hikers and cyclists and the beer garden is totally unsuitable for hosting a wedding!

The destination in Regensburg and you notice that too. The waitresses from the Czech Republic are hard-working and friendly but do not do justice to the rush so that you wait longer. But food is very good even if the portion can be a bit bigger. All in all, it's worth a stop.

The prices are a bit high and there are an awful lot of wasps there. We had to call the waiter's attention several times until we were served and finally could pay. What we wanted to order was already over, even though we were there in the early afternoon.

Wonderfully nice tavern with a traditional beer garden. Nice, friendly staff. The kitchen is good Bavarian and the price-performance ratio is okay. For us a starting point for beautiful bike tours along the Danube, after which we strengthen ourselves in the Walba. Always happy to be here. 👍👍👍 Keep it up !!!

The Walba restaurant is beautifully located with a view of the Danube, directly on a little-traveled road along the Danube. There is also a cycle path running parallel, so that cyclists are also welcome guests. There is enough space both inside and outside to sit and of course eat. At the moment (Corona) only a reduced menu, but what is offered is very tasty. The staff is super friendly and quick, the prices okay. All in all, a great recommendation

The occasion of my visit was a sad family reunion. But the food was tasty and plentiful, the service very good and the view definitely worth a second look - or a visit. I can't say anything about the prices because we had a menu and were invited.

Great food, good service, nice location and reasonable prices. Also handful of waiters spoke Czech so that was a bonus for us.

In a beer garden one imagines the dense, large and old tree tops above oneself, there are none here. The view of just enough of it and the Danube additionally compensates for that. In addition, the food is usually good and plentiful at fair prices. Vegetarians will also find something to eat and there is a playground for the little ones. We go there often and gladly! A deduction for the bread spinning mill that has been going on for years: According to the menu, a slice of bread comes at lunch times. Which is scarce anyway. In fact, you usually get half of a slightly larger disc. Which is never enough for me, but I don't feel like going to the discussions anymore and just order for a fee.

Customer service is very important here. We would be served competently and friendly very quickly. The food was delicious and plentiful. In summer you can sit outside with a beautiful view of the Danube and sometimes there is even live music.

The place is wonderful with very good food. The service is good or bad depending on your luck. Three times here I was lucky and got great service. Once I was unlucky and got a really bad service.

Today again in the Walba. But since we have eaten there for the first time for a long time, I would like to briefly report on it. Food was ordered from the day menu 1x roast pork with dumplings and 1x mixed lunch dish for each 10.80 euros. Only give four stars, because we had hoped for a bit more of the snack, maybe a second write bread. This would probably already be enough and actually belongs to me by heart. For the roast pork, the service and the waiting time I would actually award 5 stars. Was excellent. Since I'm always interested in the prices when I read reviews: Beer 0,5 l 3,80 Euro

This is a great place to be in terms of location and vibe. With the Danube river right over the street and some old Bavarian flair all those aspects work very fine. The food itself is best described as traditional Bavarian comfort food (even though there are times when liver Berlin style is being served). This is not foody stuff. But I think it does not want to be either.

My colleagues and I dined here on a weekday afternoon. Other than the great scenary, the atmosphere and vibe are awesome. We had 2 raindeer bolognese and a mushroom salad that were perfectly fine. Although the waitresses didn't know English very well she was very helpful with the menu. Other than the somehow slow service, we had a very good experience!
